Aerosmith Tickets For The Summer?

First, we had as-yet unconfirmed rumours that Elton John was playing Gran Canaria in 2017 and now it's America's Best Rock And Roll Band's turn to tease us.

The epic, cliff-edge GC-200 road that runs between La Aldea and Agaete on Gran Canaria's west coast is now closed permanently after a 300-tonne rockfall.

14.11.2016: A blob of high-altitude cold air is currently sweeping over the Canary Islands and could bring showers to north Gran Canaria today.

Local press reports indicate that Hollywood A-lister and star of Pulp Fiction Uma Thurman comes to Gran Canaria in December to film scenes from fantasy drama Down A Dark Hall.

07.11.2016: The rain is drifting away from Gran Canaria and the rest of the week will be sunny with the odd cloud.

Exclusive photos from the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa at Puerto de Mogán in Puerto de Mogán; Gran Canaria's newest 5-Star hotel due to open in December 2016.

02.11.2016: A mini version of the bad weather that hit Gran Canaria last week is due to arrive on Friday and hang around on Saturday.

28.10.2016: The rain has moved off to the north and the next week will be sunny with a touch of dust over the weekend.

21.10.2016: A Polar front heading south towards Spain is going to change the weather in the Canary Islands during the next week.

17.10.2016: The rain that was headed towards the Canary Islands yesterday faded away before it reachedus. All we got in Gran Canaria was a few drops of rain scattered across the island.

13.10.2016: Spain got seriously wet yesterday and the tail end of that weather is arriving in the Canary Islands today. It won't affect the south of the island, but the north can expect the odd shower (although the sun is blazing this morning).

The months of stable weather we've had in Gran Canaria are ending and there's a chance of rain towards the end of the week.

No, Tenerife Isn't About To Erupt

The dregs of the British press (Express, Star; Mail won't be far behind) reported yesterday that Teide volcano on Tenerife is about to erupt. Here's why they are talking nonsense.

03.10.2016: We were expecting a weak but wet front to arrive today or tomorrow and brings showers to most of Gran Canaria. However, it's gone north and won't affect us.

29.09.2016 Gran Canaria, and particularly the south of the island is currently under a surprise cloud of dust.

The Trade Winds have faded and we're now in the period of calm, sunny weather known in the Canary Islands as  'las bonanzas de Septiembre'.
