The owners and tenants of phase one and phase two have agreed to the work and SATOCAN has won the tender to do six million euros of work. Five million has come from contributions from tenants and businesses.

Refurbishment starts in March 2017 and will be finished by the end of 2018. The centre will not close during the works.

Amongst the changes is a reduction in the number of advertising signs, and a big increase in the amount of green spaces in the centre.

With plans for a new, upmarket shopping centre next door at the old waterpark site, this project is essential for the continued success of Puerto Rico's temple of tourism.
