21.10.2016: A Polar front heading south towards Spain is going to change the weather in the Canary Islands during the next week.

With weak Trade Winds, the weather so far in October has been exceptionally hot and sunny. However, starting on Saturday, waves of showers will affect the island until at least Wednesday.

An inital weak front arrives on Saturday and will cause temperatures to drop and maybe some showers in north Gran Canaria.

A second, stronger front arrives on Sunday bringing heavier showers to north Gran Canaria and maybe some cloud and rain to the south of Gran Canaria.

Weather models suggest that the main Polar front may well settle just to the west of the Canary Islands on Tuesday. If it does, and it's not guaranteed yet, it will give us proper rain and cool temperatures for at least a day or two.

We'll update as soon as the weather forecasts get clearer.
