Bom Gosto gastro bar is only small, but it's got a big reputation in Las Palmas thanks to its tasty, traditional Portuguese food and elegant interior. It does all the classics, from hearty feijoada stew to superb bacalao confitado (cod cooked in oil at a low temperature), and a good few innovative dishes based on Portuguese cuisine.
Bom Gosto is at Secretario Padilla 28 just three streets back from the beach (see map). We advise booking at the weekends, or at least turning up early in the evening, as it only has a few tables. It also opens for lunch.
Don't forget to try Portugal's eminently quaffable vinho verde, and order a glass of port to finish.
