Here's a natural wonder that you can walk to from your Maspalomas or Playa del Inglés room: The best spot to start your selfie expedition is from the Dunas Mirador at the end of Avenida Tirajana.
Photo Tip: The dunes look at their best at dawn or late afternoon. Walk 10 minutes into the dunes and you'll find a fresh one with no footprints.
You can't fail to take a good selfie at Puerto de Mogán. Just stand next to one of the bougainvillea-covered arches and snap away.
Photo Tip: Find an arch by the marina and you can get the sea in your selfie
It's a trek from the resorts, but the cliff-edge views from Tamadaba in north-west Gran Canaria will have everybody at home wondering where on Earthy you are. Here's how to get there.
Photo Tip: Get to the cliff edge early for beautiful light, or late afternoon for the best silhouettes of Teide on the horizon
Hike up the short trail to the Roque Nublo Platform and you get to do this with Gran Canaria's most famous icon.

This rock outcrop, known as the Mirador de la Rana or the Frog's Lookout Point, is right in the shadow of Roque Nublo and has a superb view of the whole of central and western Gran Canaria. It's a bit hairy to get to but worth it for the selfie.
Photo Tip: Don't forget to shoot back towards the huge Roque Nublo just metres away from this rock.
There's nothing like a swimming selfie to make folks at home seethe.
Photo Tip: You can get a great one by wading out and snapping away with the beach in the background.
Don't forget to take a foodie, especially when you find a place like this for some tapas
Photo Tip: It's not true that midday photos never work out: This was taken at exactly midday
With views south and north all you have to do at the Mirador del Balcón is pick your best angle. Just don't climb on the wall to get your selfie as the wind gusts and it's hundreds of metres to the sea below.
Photo Tip: This spot is best in the afternoon when the cliffs are in sunlight.
The Fuente de los Azulejos psychedelic rocks are the perfect place for a "where is that" selfie. Just watch out for cars on the road.
Photo Tip: These south facing rocks get the sunshine all day long but look best in the afternoon.
It's where you spend a lot of your time so snap away until you get a selfie that shows off just how awesome your holiday has been. Then send it to everyone via the hotel Wifi
Photo tip: Swimming pool selfies look best when you're up to your neck in water
