All the Canary Islands are on a yellow alert for heat, the south of Gran Canaria is on an orange alert.

Temperatures are expected to reach or exceed 38ºC in the hills behind the resorts in Gran Canaria.

Gran Canaria is also on serious fire alert: Please don't think of having a bbq in the mountains or or throwing a cigarette stub out of the car, as there's a serious fire risk with this kind of dry hot weather.

As always: slap on the sun screen, stay in the shade and drink plenty of water. Enjoy the heat! :)
