Brash and busy Puerto Rico is Gran Canaria's ultimate resort beach but it has plenty of local fans as well. You'll find them sitting on the sand between the loungers at weekends.

Sandwiched between two marinas Puerto Rico's golden sand is soft and clean and its water is clear. It's a great beach for swimming: The swimming spots along the harbour wall let you jump right into the coolest and deepest water.

There are dozens of places to eat close to Puerto rico beach,many of them right by the sand and shaded by palm trees. xxxxxx always gets good reviews from Gran Canaria fans on our Facebook page. 

Mogan's town council, which governs Puerto Rico, has recently created no-smoking area on all its beaches so watch out for the signs if you still smoke.  Night-time swimming is also forbidden at Puerto Rico beach and at Amadores next door.
