In San pedro, a small village in the Valley of Agaete, searching for the Rama (branch) is a serious business. Hundreds of people walk up from the village on June 27, some during daytime, a some at night to go and fetch the branches from the 1000 meter higher pine forest Tamadaba. Lots of people stay in the forest for the night and walk down the next morning, june 28 where the next stage starts: "Dancing the Rama".
In these pictures you can see the first part: walking up at night time, sleeping in Tamadaba and walking down the steep path the next morning.
