A cold snap heading towards the eastern Canary Islands from the north is expected to bring rain and thunderstorm to Gran Canaria and snow to the very top of the island.

Look west from Gran Canaria at the moment and you'll see Tenerife's Teide volcano covered in snow ad surrounded by the blue sky and the Atlantic Ocean. Feast your eyes on it, because the snow won't last long.

The forecast said it was possible and it's happened: The top of Gran Canaria is white with snow.
