The main tank at the Poema de Mar is breathtaking as the sharks and huge rays swim right next to you and you feel like you are actually standing on the bottom of the ocean.

It's just one of the highlights of Gran Canaria's newest mega-attraction. The whole aquarium is an adventure with dozens of tanks and aquariums containing everything from lemon sharks to seahorses. 

There's a big freshwater section, rope walkways over forested areas, a tree full of chameleons, and a moray eel tank with a fun viewing bubble. 

Poema de Mar opens every day from 09.00 to 18.00. Tickets cost 25 euros per adult and 17.50 per child. The Poema de Mar website offers several ticket plus lunch plus bus ticket deals. An annual pass costs 70 euros.
