The last few weeks have been pretty busy news-wise in Gran Canaria with the stories about ferry that hit the wall and the rally car that hit the barriers going around the world. 

Gran Canaria now has 15 Blue Flag beaches after three new ones gained the prestigious status for the first time in 2017.

You've probably read that a passenger ferry crashed into the harbour wall in Las Palmas this week and that the accident caused an oil spill and closed beaches. Relax, the spill was minor and never came anywhere near ANY of Gran Canaria's beaches.
